Odyssey

The Odyssey is an ancient Greek epic poem, traditionally attributed to Homer. It tells the story of Odysseus’ long journey home after the Trojan War. Dating and authorship of the poem are debated by scholars because the text is probably an amalgamation of songs by generations of travelling bards, rather than a coherent piece by a single author. Given the foundational position of the Odyssey in the Western canon, this timeline includes some of the later texts that took inspiration from it.
