Decameron

The Decameron is a series of 100 novellas by Giovanni Boccaccio. The novellas are united by a frame story: a group of young people are hiding in a villa outside Florence in an effort to escape the effects of Black Death. To pass the time, they tell each other stories that include folk songs, romance, death, humour, and religious life in 14th-century Florence.
